A CASED .450 DOUBLE ACTION DELUXE REVOLVER, MODEL 'ARMY with LONG PEAR EJECTOR', serial no. 54870,
circa 1879, with 5in. octagonal barrel, the top-flat signed 'T. BOSS & CO, ST. JAMES'S ST. LONDON', engraved band and panels of scroll engraving to the top three flats at the muzzle with further panels engraved at the throat, blade fore-sight, sighting groove to the top-strap with engraved border, fully borderline and scroll engraved frame (action at fault), plain cylinder with moulded band at rear edge carved with the locking notches, carved band to leading edge and scroll engraved panels above each chamber, finely chequered semi saw-handled walnut butt, engraved iron domed butt-cap and guarded trigger, traces of original faded finish and complete with a period English market oak storage case lined and compartmented with blue baize and containing an oil bottle and with tray for ammunition
